Letter from the Editor

Dear Feminists,

Welcome to the inaugural issue of Lobster Salad and Champagne! I’m thrilled to present this collection of work featuring so many talented writers from across the globe. Lobster Salad and Champagne was born from a desire to create a whimsical world where women could take a break from their daily lives and appreciate some fanciful writing. As the issue has come together, it has expanded far beyond what I imagined, to include meaningful, sometimes reflective works that I am so grateful to have the privilege of reading and publishing. The theme for this issue was positive female experiences, but as I was gently reminded of by a dear friend, the female experience can’t always be positive.

There were moments where I had to step back and reconsider what the vision for this issue was. In the end, I embraced the complexity. I realized that, much like life itself, the magazine didn’t need to fit neatly into one category—it could be lighthearted and profound, fanciful and serious.

As you read through these pages, I encourage you to not only enjoy the writing but also to reflect on your own experiences. Whether you’re drawn to the playful, the heartfelt, or the poignant, I hope each piece leaves you with something to ponder. Thank you so much for reading this issue, and for taking an adventure into our whimsical world.

Yours,

Rose Aune
